Q. What's your team's role?
We provide technical support for game development, launch, and operational issues. We also aim to automate these tasks to increase reliability and respond quickly. In addition, we are in charge of technical communication between the programming team and other teams in LINE Games. We are also introducing new tools for a more stable service in various fields such as internal and external infrastructure configuration and management.
Q. What is your role in the team?
Each technical PM consults with teams and guides them on our company policy to help them with the above tasks. We negotiate and configure architecture in cloud networks and develop/apply the necessary parts needed for configuring high availability services. In addition, we research and develop solutions for any technical issues that occur during game service for further stabilization of service.
Q. When do you find your work most rewarding?
The moment of feeling rewarded varies between teams, but as a technical PM, I feel most rewarded when the game I worked on with the developers for a long time is launched and under stable service.
I like someone with

and that has good communication with developers.
Q. What are some skills and qualities required for the job?
As a technical PM, we usually resolve critical issues for games already in live service. Technical PMs need the following capabilities: resolving issues without giving up, continuous interest in the field to rapidly adjust and overcome issues, and great communication skills to cooperate with others.
Q. What kind of personality is appropriate for the job?
This would apply for all fields, but you should have an active and positive attitude. Our team's work is to support when there is an issue, so it is critical to overcome the negativities while resolving the problem and be pre-emptive to prevent an issue from occurring.
Q. Any ways to develop the skills needed for the job?
A solid foundation is important, but it is more important to be interested in new technology. Keeping interested in new technology and putting it in practice when needed is a way to increase your capacity.

There isn't much change in the elementary knowledge of infrastructure but for a stable service, the tools we use are changing. I hope it's someone who desires to learn more and improve because this could be a great motivation for each other. In addition, similar to all other work, we need our colleagues to support us when an issue occurs during live service. Therefore, I would like to work with someone who can respect others.
